Happy new year, Jose. In 2025, I went around 4 months with a Nokia feature phone as primary device and a smartphone for work. It was a beautiful period. But in the past month, I have gone back to smartphone as my primary device mostly because of comparison with peers, feeling that using a smartphone is inevitable and using a feature phone is not sustainable. But I still feel a feature phone is more peaceful and want to switch back to it again in 2026. I would like to know how you have still stuck with using a feature phone for the past few years as your primary and not giving into such feelings to go back to a smartphone.

PS: I have been trying to use feature phone as primary for the past 3 years. I succeed for few months but eventually go back to a smartphone. In case of handling inconveniences, I have removed most of the obstacles such as I operate fully on cash/card instead of mobile payments now, for navigation gps I try to remember the route before heading out of the house now.

Yes. I have been using a Light Phone for the past 6 years. While it has been inconvenient in some instances, I have learned to navigate the world without a smartphone. For situations where a smartphone is required, I bring an Android e-ink tablet and it has done the trick so far. I purchased a Boox e-ink tablet. You can find them used for less than $150-200.

Or I might get Punkt mc02 since I already own a Punkt phone..

I personally don't want to go back to a large smartphone, but I have heard decent reports on the MC02 given that it doesn't have the Playstore by default.

What small smartphone do you have, the jelly?

I have used the Jelly for the past few years as my work phone. My personal phone is the Light Phone 3. My recommendations are always small phone, eink phone, or dumbphone with only tools and no distractions

I recently got the punkt mp02 finnally with a network and will start using it more, having a fresh new other smartphone but without a network AND keeping it charged but off. Eventually I get the jelly phone from Unihertz, for its size and the fact while sitting at a bookstore/coffee shop overhearing these two women and one talking about how abother has a jellyphone and how small/awkward it is, has influenced me to get it next month then getting a bigger data plan for it through US Mobile. For now its Punkt mp02.

I would say go back to a feature phone as your primary call/text and a smartphone for work, if need bus/train/bank apps, use them instead of anything else, leave socail media to a laptop or tablet, not in your hands.
